ULTRA Snubber Hook

Designed and manufactured in Turkey, the ULTRA Snubber Hook is intended to reduce the chain noise and impact loads that occur on anchored boats due to wind and waves. In this role, it gives you a more comfortable night's sleep while also extending the life of your windlass. Thanks to its special design, even if it is forgotten during retrieval, it releases itself from the chain as it passes over the bow roller and does not damage the windlass. The hook is made from 316 stainless steel.

Leaving the entire chain load continuously on the windlass while at anchor is not advisable. The windlass may slip under load, and because chain is not an elastic element, the shocks transferred to it can wear its mechanical parts. The snubber hook removes these drawbacks. In fact, using a snubber hook offers several additional benefits as well.

If the snubber line is made from three-strand nylon, impact loads are reduced even further. This increases comfort, reduces the load on the cleat, and lowers the risk of the anchor moving from its set position.

It also reduces the rattling that the chain can make on the bow roller, which is especially important for those sleeping on board. If the hook is secured to the boat with a double line from two separate sides, it can also reduce the swinging of the boat.

It allows any necessary intervention on the windlass even while the boat remains at anchor.
