Here is a five-star review. When Hurricane Nicole hit us directly at Wabasso Bridge in Florida, we were in 8 feet of water with a 27kg ULTRA Anchor and sustained 51-knot winds with even stronger gusts. We stayed planted to the bottom.

First of all, I am so glad I chose this anchor. You built such a great anchor that I have never once seen it drag or fail to hold. I recommended it in different sizes to all my sailor friends, and I wanted you to know that I have not heard a single complaint from any of them.

In conclusion, I believe the ULTRA Anchor is far more than just a jewel for motorboats. Yes, it is beautiful and somewhat expensive, but together with the ULTRA Swivel it is a superb piece of engineering now being adopted by prestigious builders such as Swan, Oyster, Hallberg-Rassy, and Fleming.

On the way to Portugal, I used my anchor many times and it set immediately and held perfectly every single time. Drop it and forget it. It never caused concern and never failed to hold. The ULTRA Anchor is truly an excellent and very beautiful anchor.

It is a bit expensive, but it is worth every last penny and looks great.

We wanted you to know how happy we are with the ULTRA Anchor. We have been anchoring for six weeks in the same muddy bottoms where our ROCNA used to drag, and the ULTRA immediately penetrated and dug even deeper under load.

Wherever we anchor, we now know we can sleep comfortably. In the crystal-clear waters around the Exumas, we even loved showing our guests how the anchor dives into the water.

We had a chance to use the anchor during the holiday, and despite very harsh weather in the Greek islands its performance was excellent. Just as you said, it digs in deeper as the load increases, and in 30 knots of wind it not only held our boat but also a 45-foot boat whose chain had fouled ours.

Just as promised, it set on the first attempt and never let go. We did not budge in 10 knots of wind, it was remarkably easy to retrieve, and its stainless finish shed mud that would have made galvanized anchors look terrible.

We bought an ULTRA Anchor for our training vessel, Trawler Sandy Hook. The main reason for making this change was that the digger anchors we had been using were not doing their job properly, and changing bow anchors for different seabeds had become a major chore.

The sea trial had already been very successful, but now you will be even prouder of your anchor. An unexpected storm hit our anchorage and the wind blew at a steady 53 knots for 15 minutes, with squalls up to 60 knots. The anchor held beautifully in mud, and we felt very safe.

Six months ago we replaced our very beautiful but terribly performing 140 lb stainless anchor with an ULTRA Anchor. The result has been astonishing. During the Castaways Cup races in St. Lucie Harbor, the anchor held through winds of up to 40 knots over two days.

The anchor always set on the first try and never required a second attempt. That was true on every seabed and in all weather conditions up to force 6. The only exception was in extremely dense weed, where the anchor came up carrying too much vegetation.

A short note about our 16kg ULTRA Anchor: in a crowded bay inside Port Neville we had to use a very short scope, yet the anchor still performed with confidence.

On our first day at anchor, despite the boat moving heavily and the tide changing, the ULTRA did not move an inch. I also used the ULTRA Snubber Hook, and it took all the load off the windlass beautifully. At that moment I realized I had purchased a truly top-level product.

The anchor I currently use on the boat is the Ultra brand anchor made in Turkey. I chose it because it was designed by a naval engineer and because it is a more advanced and perfected version of an already very good anchor design.

We used to use rope, but taking it ashore and bringing it back was always a hassle. This time it was much easier. The strap-shaped line winds easily onto the drum with a winch handle, unwinds just as easily, and takes up very little room despite being 60 meters long.

Taking a line ashore over a long distance and retrieving it becomes very easy and takes only seconds, and 60 meters of line takes up almost no space. When used together with chain, it does not form a bulky knot like rope and therefore does not cause tangles. It is one of the products whose usefulness far outweighs its price.
